30 minutes drive from the Colombo Bandaranayake International Airport invites you to Pugoda Walauwa holiday mansion. This mansion belonged to the Bandaranayake family of Sri Lanka from early 19 th Century.
Maha Mudliyar Conrad Peter Dias Bandaranayake(i)( 1827- ) was the first owner of this mansion. His son Mudliyar Conrad Peter Dias Bandatranayake(ii)(Snr) (1869- 1926)made this his residence. His son Conrad Peter Dias Bandaranayake(iii)(1910-1998) was the third generation of Bandaranayake family to live here. Now the fourth generation of Banadaranayake family owns this mansion.
This holiday mansion is surrounded by a tropical paradise of palm and bamboo shoots spread overa 2 acre land.thus gives you an uniterupted feeling of nature and privacy.
The ever green fields, the aromatic spice garden, the orchards and the vegetable garden are unbelievable at this eco-retreat hidden in the tropical foliage.
Botanical Gardens, Historic Temples, Sandy Beaches, Tea and Rubber Estates, Elephant Orphanages and typical Sri Lankan villages are within 30 minutes drive from Pugoda Walauwa.
Vegetables are organically grown,fertilizer, in the garden. If you desire you do have the opportunity of choosing and picking vegetables for your meal according to your choice.
