Hotel Overview

Staying at Sri Mathie is not for everyone – it’s an experience for nature lovers and those seeking solitude, with access to the markets and shops when you choose. Less than 20 minutes by various transportation (including bicycles) to the beach.
Our farm manager is more than pleased to take you on a tour of the plantation. Learn more about Sri Lanka’s famous spices, watch how rubber is harvested, made into sheets, hung and dried, then cured.
In season, pick your own passion fruit, mangos, avocado, mangosteen, wood apples, bananas, guava, belli, pepper, cloves, jack fruit, custard apples, papaya, rambutan, pineapple, and many other lesser known local fruits and herbs not available outside of Sri Lanka.
A privately-owned luxury villa restored to its 1910 splendor, with all the conveniences to meet your desires and needs.
A wrap-around porch provides the ideal location to view more than 20 species of indigenous birds (more during periods of migration). The fragrance of jasmine and temple tree flowers fill the air throughout the year.
Sri Mathie is about three kilometres inland from the beach. Bookings are for the entire house only, for a minimum of two nights.
All refreshments (organic and Ceylon tea, coffee, fruit juices, fruit smoothies, fruit popsicles) are included in the rental cost. Meal plans can be confirmed in advance or purchased on arrival by or with your own personal chef.
Sri Mathie chefs have experience with a variety of cuisines, including Sri Lankan, Indian, German, French and American favorites. All ingredients are 100 percent organic where possible, and much of it is grown on the plantation.

17 kilometres east of Galle. Three to four kilometres inland at Habaraduwa.
Directions
At Habaraduwa from Galle, turn left at the clock tower and proceed north. Follow the signs to the Habaraduwa Government Hospital. Our villa is the first property before the hospital.
Transportation
Car, van, bicycles, motorcycle, tuk-tuk. Driver available for tours and airport transfers.
Food & Dining
Since this is a working farm, there are amazing fresh dairy products daily, including yoghurt, cheese, smoothies and ice cream. And fresh oyster mushrooms.
