We stayed in 2003 and haven't seen anywhere that booked this place since. It was an experience - a 1940-50s style house - no air con, but there were fans. You could have use of the restaurants and the pools at the nearby Topaz and Tourmaine hotels, but I loved staying here. It felt like being in your own home. There is a lounge area open to the air where you can sit and read. Breakfast comes in on trays from the newer hotels. The staff were really helpful.
The clientele was a mix of local people and students from Oz / NZ - and us from England. It's a fair way out of Kandy, but if you have got a tuk-tuk driver to rely on it is fine - you can link up with local trains and buses to almost anywhere you might want to go. We did spice gardens and the elephant orphanage from here. Definitley would stay again!
