By preserving two-thirds of the available area in its natural form of vegetation, Family Park shares its atmosphere with a wide range of beautiful birds and animals.
The Ceylon otter, the giant porcupine, the Rock squirrel, two kinds of Monkeys, and the Varana are the most frequent visitors. Several types of water birds and over a hundred varieties of beautiful coloured birds keep the tree tops alive right through the day. The Dambullu Oya is the home to several interesting and indigenous types of Sri Lankan fresh water fish.
Several natural bays which are shallow are wonderful locations for a cool dip in the crystal clear Dambullu Oya. B.B.Q.S pits have been located round the stream and have been separated from each other to maintain privacy and family barbeques could be arranged on request.

Location
Four kilometers from the town center of Dambulla and just five hundred yards' from the Dambulla – Kandy highway, Family Park is situated as a logical base for a visit to dry zone and the Cultural Triangle sites.
One could visit the scenic Kandalama Lake in just fifteen minutes by using the Kalundewa Road which could take you through the beautiful surroundings from Ridiella to Elahara, Bakamuna and on to Giritale. Ideally situated on the banks of the Dambullu Oya, Family Park is the Ultimate retreat and adventure location for the whole family. Five of the 10 acres of land has been preserved with its original cover of vegetation and the recreation and living facilities have been kept apart to preserve the serenity of the location.
Day trips to Sigiriya, Polonnaruwa, Anuradhapura, Trincomalee, Aukana, Reswehera and Aluwihare using the country’s better and quality road networks, would be of great educational experience. The family could also have an untiring and enjoyable experience in driving. Ritigala, Habarana, Minneriya , Kaudulla and Wasgamuwa - home of the two nature reserves are located in close proximity.
