Rani Holiday Village, for many, is as good as Negombo gets. It was built in 1990, but it still gleams as new and it reputation grows annually. Although set back from the beach, only a 100m stroll takes you alongside the only five-star in town – The Beach – to Negombo’s golden mile-long strip of sand. Rani’s mix of apartments and bungalows, with modern facilities, make it a natural choice for large groups – cricket tourists for example – seeking good facilities and a communal, laid-back environment. Lords restaurant and nightclub – the only independent nightclub in Sri Lanka – is also a short distance away.
Nineteen well-furnished apartments (15 twin-room, 4 single-room), and a further five two-bedroom bungalows, all with lounge, kitchen and tiled bathrooms with h/c water and shower. A further 16 rooms were completed in January 2005. All rooms have cable tv (including sport and movie channels) and DVD hire on request. Kitchens have a fridge, table and cooking facilities. A coffee-shop style restaurant is open in mornings and evenings, and offers room service. Money facilities. The Rani group also offer a travel service (ask us for details). |
