Saman Villas is magnificently perched on a rocky headland dividing two long seemingly endless, surf-swept un-spoilt beaches of golden sand, backed by dense green coconut plantations, in the quiet-sleepy fishing village of Athuruwella in Bentota just 92 kilometers from the International airport.
The Romantic Location and its atmosphere is one of tranquility, disturbed only by the sound of sea gulls and the waves breaking on the rocks below. The views, from anywhere in the hotel, are unbelievably magnificent.
26 Luxuriously furnished suites and the Villa are designed in traditional Sri Lanka style with spectacular views of the ocean. They include a terrace or balcony with a day bed & dining tabel, lounge area, sleeping deck, dressing room, open-air bath and shower with courtyard, individual climate control, telephone, CD player, LCD panel TV, satellite TV channels, hair dryer, make-up mirror, mini-bar and safe. Whilst all suites have the same facilities, some Deluxe Suites boasts 20ft long swimming pools. The Luxurious 2-story Saman Villa Suite is comprised of a living area on the ground floor and the bathroom courtyard opening to a 22ft long private swimming pool with sun deck. The upper floor comprises of a large bed room with a large balcony opening out to the ocean with attached toilet and CD players, LCD panel TV’s and mini-bar’s are available on both floors
Two restaurants overlooking the pool and the sea beyond, the terrace restaurant open for breakfast and lunch and the main restaurant open only for dinner, offering a selection of Eastern, Western and Sri Lankan cuisine. In addition, five diverse romantic dining locations are available for a dreamy candlelit dinner; the languor of the golden sandy beach, on a rock where the waves break, the pool pavilion overlooking the ocean. The diverse private dining choices also include being surrounded by the hushed tones of a tropical garden or the symphony of sounds created by a cascading water garden. The pool/lounge bar with breath-taking views of the pool and blue sea and the open-air sunset bar on the upper floor with panoramic views from coast to coast and the central hills. Other facilities includes a library, snooker table, large swimming pool with infinity edge, Gym with Sauna and Steam, Badminton, table tennis, gem and jewelry shop.
The Sahana Spa, a luxury all suite garden spa offers an array of treatments and yoga. Each suite features facilities of a luxury spa and offer treatments in complete privacy. The Deluxe Suite, set in a water garden, is comprised of an aromatic sauna, steam shower, Jacuzzi, mud bath, treatment room, dining pavilion and relaxation pavilion with a double bed. The Superior Suite incorporates its own aromatic sauna, Jacuzzi, mud bath, treatment room and dining pavilion. This impressive suite is set in a tropical garden. Treatments range in duration from one to four hours and are influenced by a Sri Lankan concept using natural material of therapeutic value.
