Talalla Retreat is a boutique hotel situated in the Southern Beaches area of Sri Lanka. Our extensive 3.5 acre grounds are a two minute walk from Talalla beach and feature lush green grass and tall palm trees. Bird’s song, and the lull and hush of waves breaking on the nearby shore will slow your mind and body down to a more tranquil pace.

Talalla Beach is an undiscovered crescent cove of glassy crystal clear turquoise water, spotless golden sand and mesmerizing sunrises. We offer eight gracefully decorated two-storey villas set in landscaped gardens. Each villa has four spacious bedrooms, making 16 twins and 16 doubles. All rooms have mosquito nets, are bright and airy and each has its own private balcony or veranda. There is no need for air conditioning in our rooms as they are all cooled by natural sea breezes and ceiling fans. Every room has its own large open-sky marble bathroom. All rooms are immaculately serviced everyday and normal amenities such as laundry and ironing are available. As our aim is for you to leave us feeling peace and tranquility entirely, there are no in-room TV or entertainment centers to deter you from reaching this goal. To soothe your soul, calm your mind and invigorate your body we do, however, offer yoga and tai chi classes and guided meditations. And to amaze your senses Sri Lanka offers you her natural beauty of beaches, jungles and teeming wildlife. There are countless places of interest and natural beauty to explore in the vicinity.

Talalla is an individualistic boutique hotel and Yoga retreat situated on one of the most beautiful bays on the south coast, located a few miles south of Matara. Tallala's undiscovered crescent-shaped beach and calm turquoise seas make the 4.5 journey from Colombo eminently worthwhile. The Air Taxi also runs a convenient service from Colombo's International Airport that stops in Dickwella, just a few minutes away. The historic city of Galle is just one hour away.

If you arrange your own transport here are the directions to give your driver: Pass through Matara towards Dondra the southern tip of Sri Lanka. Keep going for another 5 minutes and you will pass through Gandra. On your right you will see the Gandra Police station, 250 meters past the police station you will see the sign for
Talalla Retreat on the right, turn there. At the T intersection turn right again and then at the small temple turn left and continue down the hill, when you see the large wall you have found us.

Many flights arrive in Colombo at night. If you want to travel straight to Talalla Retreat when you arrive please give us your flight details and we will have a car or van with a driver meet you at the airport.
If you wish to spend the night in Colombo and depart for Talalla Retreat the next day we can arrange this stop off.
